Why you should do business with us
Since our beginning in 2014, we have focused on adapting our tiny houses to the Quebec climate. This is important because almost all tiny houses built in the world are from the American mold, where the movement began. But the climate here is much colder than in most US states. To give you an idea, the Americans often isolate their houses with mineral wool, using a single layer (equivalent to a thermal resistance of R-13). It is not using these methods that you will get a satisfactory efficiency here!
In addition to a superior, all materials used in our constructions were chosen over their environmental impact (embodied energy, carbon footprint, end of life management, etc.). This is actually the specialty of the founder of Habitations MicroÉvolution, who wrote his master’s thesis on ecological construction (french).
Finally, we are the only tiny house builder in Quebec to have tested our product before putting it on the market. Indeed, our model unit has been inhabited throughout the winter 2014 – 2015 and the results were impressive! Keeping the house between 17 and 25 ° C at all times only cost $ 100.
